Located in Tope Mahal, I’m Mahal honours the individualistic design talent of the Kalra family who were among the first to bring cutting-edge interiors to New Delhi in the 1980’s. The I’m suite comprises of three monastic cloisters with deep vaulted roofs. It leads out to a long verandah and a private garden with flowering shrubs and trees. These may have been built for craftspersons or as royal stables for the Tijara Fort-Palace which was never completed. The entry has two interesting bathrooms – one with a marble lotus shower. These are flanked by two bedrooms with double beds and an Indian-style baithak with bolsters. The medieval Mughal windows look out to a boulevard below. Ideal for a family or two close couples.
