Situated on the north-eastern edge of the Fort-Palace, this spacious room is named after the fish avatara – the first of the ten incarnations of Vishnu, from which Darwin possibly drew inspiration for his Evolution of Man theory. Away from external noises, the room leads out to the upper gardens overlooking the lower pool. There are two windows which open on the foot of the hill. It has an antique double bed in this triple-arched yellow chamber with a seating area, study corner, dressing table and an old almirah. The unusual bathroom has a one-way view from the shower.
