Cannonballs were once fired from its thick bastion walls. The scallop walled twin structure resembles a ship, and in fact, boats were brought in during high tide and parked downstairs in its stable and dry dock. Since 1982, it has been owned by Peirce Leslie. The character of The Tower House lies in its unpretentious yet proud presence. Almost grandfather like, it looks out over the sea, still surrounded by a spirit of adventure that brings back stories of the high seas told across generations. Stately colonial pillars support its vast high ceilinged halls, while generously arched doors welcome guests into a world where time slows, pauses to watch the sunset, and then moves gently towards dawn.
