KATHAK & ODISSI DANCE : YOGINI GANDHI

Yogini Gandhi is amongst the very few dancers who perform two Indian classical dance styles - Kathak & Odissi with equal dexterity and virtuosity. After initial training at Kala Chhaya and under Shri Natbar Maharana, she went on to receive guidance from India's legendary dance maestros Pt. Birju Maharaj and Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. Yogini's dance creatively infuses her individual artistic perception with the knowledge she has received from her gurus.


BAISAKHI : BHANGRA & GIDDA

Today, the exhilarating Bhangra and Gidda from Punjab resounds on the ramparts of Neemrana Fort-Palace. A special select group of artists from Patiala showcase this age-old tradition with flying footsteps and reverberating “dhol & dholki”. Their rhythms celebrate nature, harvests weddings and even life itself.
The finale of all folk-dance programmes in India end with the Bhangra and Gidda simply because its zest is unmached.


JAZZ : BY IMPROMPTU

Impromptu is a small group of people who enjoy making music together. They live in Delhi. Their interests and repertoire cover a wide range—classical, jazz, folk, popular in western music.
Reuben Israel (vocals, clarinet), with Akane Ozawa (vocals, keyboard), Shifumi Saito (contrabass), Rie Ona (saxophone), S. Chidambar (keyboards, saxophone, blues harp), Yohei Saito (trombone)entertain the Neemrana Music. Their music will make you clap your hands and tap your feet.


ODISSI DANCE : KAVITA DWIBEDI
On Saturday, 24th April, 2010
Kavita, a dancer with vision and versatility, performs the original spiritual Odissi drawn from the Orissa's temples. Kavita has also choreographed compositions of dance based on traditional Chhanda music of Orissa. She is a postgraduate in Sociology from the Delhi and holds a Visharad (BA) in Odissi from Gandharva Mahavidalaya.

 

Apart from these programs, every other Saturday evening there are performances by Rajasthani Folk Artistes.

Evening shows will start after sunset (around 7 pm) followed by a gala dinner, where you can meet the performing artiste. Rate @ Rs.1500/-

The room will be at their usual rates ranging from Rs.2500/- to Rs.21,000/-
